Adopt-a-Business: Empowering Local Enterprise
Overview
The Beta Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is committed to the economic growth and sustainability of our local community. Through our Adopt-a-Business initiative, we move beyond being mere consumers; we become active partners in the success of minority-owned and small businesses.
This program is designed to provide targeted support, professional expertise, and increased visibility to a selected local business, helping them navigate the challenges of the modern marketplace.
Our Mission
To foster economic development by “adopting” a local business for a designated period and leveraging the collective professional skills, network, and resources of our brotherhood to help that business thrive.
How We Support Our Partners
When Beta Epsilon Sigma “adopts” a business, we provide a customized support package based on the specific needs of the entrepreneur:
- Patronage & Visibility: We encourage our members, families, and the wider community to prioritize the adopted business, driving immediate foot traffic and revenue.
- Professional Consulting: Our chapter members—ranging from accountants and attorneys to marketing specialists and IT professionals—offer pro-bono advisory services.
- Marketing Support: We leverage our social media platforms and community network to highlight the business’s products and services.
- Business Literacy: We assist with modernizing business practices, from digital presence (social media/website) to financial record-keeping and scalability.
Why It Matters
Minority-owned businesses often face systemic barriers to capital, mentorship, and marketing reach. By adopting a business, Phi Beta Sigma acts as a bridge, ensuring that the wealth and services generated within our community remain in our community.
“Our goal is not just to see these businesses survive, but to see them lead their respective industries.”
Our local businesses are the heartbeat of our community. To ensure they continue to thrive, the Beta Epsilon Sigma Chapter has “adopted” a local business partner for this month. We are proud to feature their story, share their services, and encourage our brothers and the wider community to show their support.
